Yes that would be a start. But you might want to record observations:

<station ID="1">
  <temperature value="55.0" time value 8.00/>
  <temperature value="57.0" time value 9.00/>
  <temperature value="57.0" time value 10.00/>
  <temperature value="56.0" time value 11.00/>
</station>

Partly, but consider surface features not directly connected the undergound survey, e.g.
road intersections, springs, sinks, etc.
