One of the drawbacks to be aware of when having a "Reply-to" set to be the
list, is that if the sender is using a different reply address than where
they are sending from, e.g. sending from work but replies to go to home,
then the sender's "Reply-to" is lost when the list overwrites it.
Apparently a common compromise solution is to have the list set to reply to
the sender, i.e. list uses no "Reply-to", but then users always use "Reply
All" when replying to the list, which puts both the sender and the list in
the reply's "To:" box. Then you delete whichever you don't want from the
"To:" box.
And then and Andreas mentioned there's the very annoying loop occurring if
a recipient has an auto-reply set on their mailbox (like out-of-office),
which would go back to the list, etc, etc.
Though not really a nice solution, I think reply-to-sender is the best
compromise and safest, and we just click Reply-All and delete the sender
when we reply to the list. Anyone know a better method....
