No, more basic. Why is Cave a necessary part of the Survey model? If
this is to be a robust Survey data storage, it should be applicable
to other uses besides Cave surveying.

No. My interest is trying to make sure the result is generic enough
it could be used to survey mines, plots of land, or whatever.. not
just caves.
