Or maybe not everyone on the survey team is assigned an instrument. Granted, there is the lead tape and at
least one instrument person. There is also the person maintaining the book. When required, there could also
be someone doing backsights and another doing inventory (geo, bio, etc). IMHO it seems a better fit to have
a common format for all the members and roles instead of having a special one for those on instrument and
those doing other duties.
