FYI: literature update.

I've recommended the Annotated XML specification before:
    http://www.xml.com/axml/testaxml.htm
Since it covers history, and has more explaination than
the specification.

HOWEVER, the annotated specification has lagged behind
the actual revisions of the standard.

Since Tom Bray has told me in private Email that he is
finding trouble finding time to update it, I'll also
point (for the record) to the current version
of the spec (marked up with the changes since the
version that the Annotated version covers:

http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-xml-20001006-review.html

(I still stand behind my extreme position that anybody
seriously thinking of CaveXML should read the relevant
 spec's early on.)
