Yes, I think the intended distinction between field data and raw data is
that field data was in original unaltered form, even if that was on paper
and not machine-processable, whereas raw data was the first time it was
converted, with no attempt at editing, to a computer-processable form. The
proposed definition did not really specify machine-processable, so here is
an amended proposal for Raw Data for approval or improvement:
